The Igneus Classico Wood Fired Pizza Oven delivers authentic wood-fired cooking with European craftsmanship. This graphite-finished oven reaches temperatures up to 500°C and heats up in just 15-20 minutes.
Built from stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium, it features a 60cm x 60cm cooking area that accommodates two 12" pizzas simultaneously. The built-in thermometer monitors cooking temperatures whilst the chimney damper controls airflow.
Beyond pizza, this oven handles roast meats, fish, vegetables and bread using cast iron cookware. At 45kg total weight, it becomes portable at 20kg when firebricks are removed for transport.
The oven reaches cooking temperature in 15-20 minutes when using kiln-dried hardwood logs. Silver birch is recommended for best performance as it burns cleanly and reaches high temperatures quickly. The built-in thermometer shows when optimal cooking temperature is achieved, typically between 350°C to 410°C for pizza cooking.
This oven handles roast meats, fish, lasagna, curry, vegetables, bread and even cupcakes using cast iron cookware. The removable door allows for slow cooking and heat retention, making it suitable for dishes requiring longer cooking times. The high heat and wood-fired flavour enhance all types of cooking, from quick searing to slow roasting.
The external dimensions are 68cm x 66cm x 103cm, requiring adequate clearance around all sides for safety and operation. You need space above for the chimney and heat dissipation, plus room to manoeuvre around the oven when cooking. It can be placed on a sturdy tabletop surface or used with the optional custom trolley stand.
Use only kiln-dried hardwood logs, with silver birch recommended for optimal performance. Avoid softwoods like pine which produce excessive smoke and resin. Hardwoods burn hotter and cleaner, reaching the high temperatures needed for proper pizza cooking. Well-seasoned oak, ash or beech are also suitable alternatives to silver birch.
The complete oven weighs 45kg but reduces to 20kg when firebricks are removed for transport. This makes it reasonably portable for moving between locations or storing during winter months. The firebricks are easily removable and replaceable, allowing the main oven body to be transported in most vehicles.
Temperature control comes from the built-in thermometer and chimney damper system. The damper regulates airflow, which directly affects burning intensity and temperature. Opening the damper increases airflow and temperature, whilst closing it reduces heat. The removable door also helps retain heat for slower cooking methods.
The oven includes the main unit, reversible door, chimney with air damper, built-in thermometer, firebricks and fireguard. These components provide everything needed to start cooking immediately. Optional accessories like the custom trolley stand are available separately but not essential for operation.
The stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium construction requires minimal maintenance. Allow the oven to cool completely before cleaning. Remove ash from the cooking chamber after each use. The exterior can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The firebricks may develop a patina over time, which is normal and doesn't affect performance.
